Installation Instructions

Step-by-step guides to safely and successfully update your Mercedes-Benz navigation system.

Important Warnings Before Starting

  • Keep your engine running during the entire update process to prevent the battery management system from turning off the head unit.
  • Do not remove the USB drive while the update is in progress.
  • You can drive your vehicle normally while the update is installing in the background.

How to identify your system

COMAND Online (NTG5.5 / NTG5*2)

Found in E-Class (W213), S-Class (W222). Features a wide screen without touch functionality, controlled via the center console rotary dial/touchpad.

MBUX (NTG6)

Found in A-Class (W177), GLE (V167), GLC facelift. Features dual wide screens, touchscreen capability, and responds to "Hey Mercedes".

  1. Step 1: Format & Extract

Ensure your 64GB USB drive is formatted to exFAT. Extract the downloaded ZIP file directly to the root of the USB drive. Do not place the files inside a subfolder.

  2. Step 2: Insert into Vehicle

Start your engine. Insert the USB drive into the USB port in your center console or armrest (the port marked with a media/phone icon).

  3. Step 3: Enter FSC Code

The COMAND screen will prompt that a new map update is available. Select "Yes" to update. When asked for an activation code, enter the 20-digit FSC code we provided.

  4. Step 4: Wait for Completion

The update takes approximately 40-60 minutes. Once it reaches 100%, the system automatically reboots. Your maps are now updated.
